Page 10 NORTHWEST HERALD Section B Wednesday, September IS, 1985 Regional Helping Paws ii i%f By FloKlemm It looks like a "joy ride" when you see a dog riding in the back of an open truck, but it shouldn't happen to a dog! Any sudden start, stop or turn can toss your pet onto the highway, and if the impact of hit ting the road doesn't kill it, on coming traffic probably will. Most dogs love the feeling of wind blow ing past their ears at 60 mph, but it can do damage, plus blow pieces of grit into the animal's eye. ADOPTION POLICY All pet adoptions must be validated by the signing of a con tract, along with the adoption ha of $35 for all dogs or $20 for all cats, which includes the cost of the spay or neuter surgery, by a vet of HP's choice.
