Community MCHENRY PLAINDEALER Two McHenry High students are nominated to All-American band For a high school student to earn the status of "AH-American", one might assume he or she excelled in athletic competition. But for Joan Marchese and John Frederick Perry of McHenry High School, years of musical dedication have earned them this national dis tinction. Marchese, who plays clari net, and Perry, who plays trumpet, have been nominated to the 1985 McDonalds Ail-American High ; School Band. Marchese and Perry were nomi nated for the All-American Band by West Campus band director John Leighty on the basis of their musical ability and competitive contest rat ings. Students selected to the 1965 All-American Band will be notified in early October. The nomination was announced by Sam Hutchinson, operator of the lo cal restaurant. "It's a pleasure for us to see moti vated young people get the recogni tion they deserve," Hutchinson said. Where's the fire?
