Full page article remembering Clyde L. Lyon.
Age: 91
Died: Sept. 6, 1971.
Employment: He taught woodshop along with reading, arithmetic, photography and leathercraft while at the same time serving as superintendent of the Glenview schools. He once taught California's Governor Ronald Reagan as well as former Secretary of Labor Willard Wirtz.
Education: graduate of Eureka College near Peoria, later went on to become president of his alma mater. He also became an ordained minister in the Disciples of Christ Church.
He came to Glenview in 1937 to become superintendent. He retired in 1947. On it's completion, the School Board named the new school in honor of Clyde L. Lyon.
