The latest to record is a concert to | be given by the University of Chicago Glee Club and | the New Trier High school, Saturday evening. The affair is being launched under the auspices of the Chi- cago Alumni of Simmons College of Boston, the third largest college | in the country, and where many prominent Chicagoans enroll from time to time. Andrews and W.| Wallace Beals. & The marriage has been announced of Miss Gladys Balch, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Balch of Evanston to Herman Kooke Hoff, also of Evanston, which took place on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Hoff is a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, and a graduate of Northwestern university. She has many friends along the north shore. o v Announcement is made of the engagement of Miss Eleanor Susan Gann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David B. Gann of 2256 Lin- coln Park West, Chicago, to Mr. Stuart Alexander Prosser, son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Prosser, of Glencoe. The wedding will take place in June. & Mrs. Eudora Van De Veer of Taylorville, Ill., announces the en- gagement of her daughter, M. Eugenia, to Harold C. Strotz, son of Mr. Charles M. Strotz. of 365 Sheridan road. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith will give a dinner dance on Saturday evening at their home, 310 Fairview avenue, to celebrate their fif- teenth wedding anniversary. The Woman's Catholic club of Wilmette and the Young Ladies' Auxiliary, announce a May Party for the benefit of the Building Fund of Rosary college, to be held on Fri- day evening, May 7, at the Ouilmette Country club. There will be danc- ing and cards, bridge, euchre, five- hundred and bunco. The grand march, which is to be held at 9:30 o'clock will be led by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hines of Evanston. At the Thank Offering meeting of the Woman's society of the Congre- gational church held on Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. 1. Harrison Mettler, 1119 Sheridan road, a most delightful program was given. Mrs. S. T. Burke. gave a short history of the family which the society has been assisting, and later Mrs. Sher- man Coble talked on "Americaniza- tion".
