Peterson got astride his motorcycle this week for the first time since June, 1918, when he met with a serious accident in a collision in Wilmette and sustained a badly crushed foot. The Scguts gave an exhibition of knot-tying, signalling, first aid work and other activities. Merriment was occasioned by the O'Grady drill down which proved William Miller the winner. In the knot-tying con- test Cabray Wortley won first prize. Burton Atwood gave an interesting account of the wireless station at Community House and what Scouts were doing in connection with the device. There was a Scout initiation and tenderfood examination. Samuel Dean and Stuart Boal were made Tenterfood Scouts. Ayres Boal, Jr, was made First Class Scout. In the signalling contest Cabray Wortley 'sent a message to Richard Goble at the rear of the auditorium by In- ternational Morse code. Stanley Wheatley sent a message to Philip Eisendrath by semaphore code. Both messages were received. The Camp Fire Girls gave some beautiful tableaux and a good dram- atization of the Camp Fire laws, and sang one of their Camp Fire songs. A Ceremonial was given by girls from each group led by the Guardian, Mrs. Harry P. Clarke. Fach of the five Winnetka Camp Fire groups contributed something illustrative of Camp Fire activities. A brief motion picture was shown of Winnetka Scouts in action, and A building boom is on in Winnetka. Construction on work contemplated, or now underway was announced this week as follows: W. F. Regan, 1040 North avenue is building a frame garage on his premises. T. M. Brooks, 439 Walnut street, is constructing a frame garage, C. R. Cole, 1412 Scott avenue, is to build a home at 914 Vernon avenue. A frame garage is to be constructed prior to work on the proposed home. F. S. Burke, 189 Ridge avenue, is con- structing a garage on his premises. Martin Thorsen is building a 3-car frame garage at 1031 Spruce street. L. A. Brady is making additions and adding a new porch to his home at 1131 Laurel avenue. The indicated cost is $2,000. F. L. Chapman, Jr. 404 Elder lane, is constructing a $10,- 000 home, with garage, on the prem- ises. R. M. Snyder is to build a bungalow at 1311 Asbury avenue. L P. Florsheim is making enlargments on his home. Howard Carpenter, 411 Linden street, is constructing a frame: garage. FE. F. Johnston, 428 Willow street, is altering his home at an in dicated cost of $4,000. J. A. Jones, 642 Cherry street, is building a frame garage. Viggo N.
