The New Trier Horticultural so- ciety held a Flower Show at the Winnetka Community House on July 1. The object of the show was chief- ly to exhibit sweet peas, but entrance and collection of Annuals and Per- renials were also admitted. Mr. D. McNaughton of Lake For- est won the Elliot Trophy which was awarded for the best collection of sweet peas. Mrs. Charles Elliot won first prize for the twelve best vases of sweet peas exhibit. Mrs. Charles N. Strotz won first prize for the finest collection of Annual and first prize for the finest collection of Per- renials. Mrs. Albert Pick won first prize for the best vase of roses and of Candidum Lillies. Mrs. Watson and Mrs. W. B. Hale received special mention for their display of flowers. Mrs. Hale also received special men- tion for her display of vegetables. The big Flower Show of the season will be held at Community House on ! July 29, from 2 to 10 o'clock. FRAP HA Mr. and Mrs. Herbert E. Fleming, of 206 Fairview road, have recently returned to their home in Glencoe after a year's stay in Washington. Mr. Fleming was director for the Congressional Joint Commisison on Reclassification of Salaries, which turned in a comprehensive report classifying the positions of the one hundred thousand civilian employes of the government at Washington and recommending standard salary schedules.
