WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4, 1920 err---- -- INDIANS AND REDS ARE INDOOR VICTORS| Kreger Aggregation Wins Lop-sided Affair; France Basks in Lime- light; Bailey Fans 24 Opponents Wednesday evening's indoor games were featured by the heavy slugging of the Reds who now occupy. second place. The Cubs were their victims to the tune of 15-1. "Kink" Bailey fanned 24 Dodgers in the second affair and won a well-earned 13-6 victory. The first game belonged to the Reds' from the opening frame. Nash Cazel, Cub twirler, allowed four hits and issued four free tickets in this session, the result being a cluster of seven runs. The second inning wit- nessed a repetition of the first and after three men crossed the pan Cazel gave up the ghost and went to the showers, Harry Anderson going to the mound. Kreger Invincible Harry pitched a fine game but no team in the league would have been able to beat Kreger Wednesday even- ing as he was iptching stellar ball throughout. Two hits were the only blows garnered off his delivery while fifteen Bruins were whiffed by his tantalizing assortment of hurling wares. The Cubs were held scoreless un- til the seventh when Woods reached the initial sack on an error, went to second on: a passed ball and rode home on Anderson's single past third. France Slugging Star One of the most interesting side- lights of the first encounter was the splendid, all-around playing of right- fielder "Monte" Fr ance who startled the audience by his unexpected re- juvenation. He was considered only a mediocre player until this week's performance which stamped him as an athlete of the Babe Ruth type. France finished the evening with a double, single, walk and two strike- outs to his credit. His hits were well placed and assisted considerably in winning the encounter. The only interesting feature of the second games was "Kink's" hurling. He was jitcihing in fine form and with better support the score of the Dodgers would have been lower.
