4 Cr ------ SO GOOD IN DEBATES CAN'T GET CHALLENGES New Trier Township High school's debating squads presented such for- midable arguments in recent appear- ances as to cause the teams to pass out of the competitive class among secondary school debaters. This rather peculiar situation is brought about by the fact that schools challenging or challenged by New Trier have thought the matter over seriously and made negative response. Priviso High school, tied with New Trier for first place in the Suburban Debate League, made reply to New Trier's challenge with the interesting information that the league constitu- tion forbid more than a prescribed number of contests during the year, that number having been completed by that school. Rockford and Waukegan High schools some weeks ago challenged have since withdrawn because of alleged ineligibility of several mem- bers of those teams to compete in interscholastic debate. Yes, New Trier is still waiting to hear from some likely opponents. New Trier Will Answer the Plea of Near East The Girls' Reserve at New Trier High school is planning to answer the plea of the Near East by gathering clothing among tbe students and pa- trons of the school. - Miss Babcock, who is sponsor of this girls' organiza- tion, wishes to have the garments brought to school from Monday, May 15, to Wednesday, May 17. The Girls should like to have the stores in the township volunteer to furnish boxes for packing the articles ready for shipment. They can also use few cars or trucks to traneport the clothing to the station. Those who are willing to assist in this worthy cause are asked to call Miss New Trier to post season debates but Babcock at the high school. 9 Save Every Phase of Their Childhood The photography of children has been a study with us.
