i> WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, MAY 2, 1922 FORMER WINNETKA MAN KILLED BY FAST TRAIN, Joseph Brunner, a former resident of Winnetka, formerly of Lake Forest, died at the Municipal hospital in Wau- kesha, Wis., last Saturday morning. Death was due to injuries sustained when the truck he was driving was struck by a train on the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad the previous day. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris. Brunner, of Lake Forest. Brunner was operating the machine for the state highway commission, and was hauling road material near Duplainville. At 11:15 o'clock Friday morning his machine was struck by a train at the Duplainvile crossing. He was injured internally and also about the head. The train crew admin- istered first aid, and the injured man was taken to the hospital. Besides his wife and parents, there survive two brothers and five sisters: Chris. Brunner, jr. Lake Forest; W. C. Brunner, Chicago; Miss Frances Brunner, Muncie, Ind.; Mrs. John Grimmer, Waukesha; Mrs. C. For- mann, Ft. Worth, Tex.; Mrs. Agnes Theriault, St. Louis, Mo., snd Mrs. R. F. McQueen, Detroit. Funeral services were held Monday morning at eight o'clock at St. Jo- seph's church, Waukesha. Burial was at St. Joseph's cemetery in that city. Art Students Entertain Mothers Thursday, June 1 Students in the Art and Home Eco- nomics departments at New Trier Township High school will hold an in- formal reception and exhibit of their handiwork Thursday afternoon, June 1, for their mothers and firends. The reception will be from 3:30 until 5 o'clock. Members of the recently organized Domecon club of the school will serve as hostesses agd will be in charge of serving refreshments. Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. King of the Ambassador hotel have moved into the house at 340 Sheridan road, Win- netka, for the summer months.
