Gage, of Vineland, New Jersey, a faithful reader of The Lake Shore News and a former resident of Wilmette, was the first contributor to the Herrin Massacre fund inaugur- ated here a week ago by the New Trier Commercial association. The drive is made at the instance of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, now engaged in raising a fund to expedite the prose- cution of those responsible for the fiendish murder committed recently in the coal regions of Williamson county, Illinois. The Letter | In a letter addressed to The Lake Shore News Mr. Gage has the follow- ing to say about the matter: "Am just in receipt of The Lake Shore News and have read your appeal for funds to defray necessary ex- penses to convict, and I hope hang, those guilty of complicity in the Her- rin Murder. "I enclose a little check and state I have more for the same purpose when called for. The session will be held in Jones' Lodge hall at 8 o'clock in the evening. BEACH MANOR HOTEL T0 BE STARTED SOON Finish Lake Front Structure in Ten Months Construction of Beach Manor, an apartment hotel to be erected in the north boundary line of Wilmette at Sheridan road and Lake Michigan, is to be in progress within two months and the building will be completed within ten months, according to a statement made this week by Omar C. Harris, president-manager of the Beach Manor Corporation. Beach Manor, ten stories in height and with a frontage of 400 feet and depth of 400 feet, is to be owned by the Beach Manor Real Estate Im- provement company, an Illinois cor- poration with 364 shares of capital stock, two shares for each apartment holder, according to Mr. Harris. The apartment owners will own all shares of capital stock, he asserts. Beach Manor is to contain 182 five- | room apartments with kitchenettes.
