a J | COMMUNITY HOUSE CALENDAR FOR WEEK ENDING OCT. 16, 1922 The classes in English for Foreign Men and Women began work last Tues- day evening under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Moulton and Mrs. John Fletcher and assistants. The eagerness and enthusiasm of those taking the work, and the large num- ber attending, show how great a need is being filled in the community by these classes. These trained leaders are voluntarily offering this splendia segvice in the community. Community House is anxious to have this work as well known as possible among the foreign population that all desiring such instruction may be reached. Two dinners are scheduled in Com- munity House for the week--The New Trier Commercial Dinner on Monday evening, and the Men's Club dinner in the Gymnasium on Thursday evening. This is the first dinner of the season for the Men's Club and a large attend- ance is expected, Any man in Win- netka is eligible to join this group. Gives Lectures on Art Before the Woman's Club Miss Rebecca Ashley, principal of the Roycemore Private school at Evanston, is to give a series of six illustrated lectures this fall and win- ter at the Winnetka Woman's club. The course is given under auspices of the Art and Literature department of the Woman's club. The lectures will take place Monday afternoons at 4 o'clock, beginning Monday, Novem- ber 13. The dates for the course follow: November 13--Greek Ideal of the Golden Age, a study of the Parthenon. November z(--Fourth Century In- dividual Art, as a subject of study.
