Construction work will start immediately and it is expected that the building will be completed by March 1. The architect's sketch gave an idea of the beauty, solidity and distinct- iveness of this building which will soon help to make Winnetka even more impressive as a suburban com- munity, Chaplain J. W. F. Davies comment- ing on the new Temple expressed its importance not only to Winnetka masons but to the rising generation as well. "As I look at this picture of the new Winnetka Masonic Temple", he said, "I can't help asking myself, what kind of an impression will this build- ing make on people, particularly the young men and boys. It seems to me that the first impression this mag- nificent building will make is that of solidity. It gives the impression of strength. Its broad entrance makes one feel that he will be welcome with- in. The tower-like structures inspire reverence and respect for the cause which the Temple represents. The two long, narrow windows in each tower stand for uprightness. Since you cannot look in through these stained windows, they lend an air of mystery to the building. As you look at the entrance you realize that in order to reach the main part of the building you must go up a flight of stairs. This still further lends a mys- terious atmosphere.
