WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 1922 E00 PLAS TE TOGETAEW EVER Also Accepts Players' Offer of Benefit Drama Winnetka Post No. 10 of the Ameri- can Legion at its meeting Tuesday of this week accepted the proposition of Sidney Spiegel, Jr., president of the North Shore Players, to present "Peg 0' My Heart," a three-act comedy, as a Legion benefit. rhe sale of tickets for two performances was placed in the hands of a special committee compris- ing L. Sherman Aldrich, chairman, Dr. F. W. Blatchford, Marcus Rich- ards, Dr. H. J. Lynn, Harry Wildman, Thomas J. Lynch. Finances are to be in charge of George W. McKinney. The local legion post is planning an intensive campaign to secure payment | of dues and to "sign up" new members from the ranks of ex-service men and women in the village. Odell Outlines Plans Irving Odell, newly elected com- mander of the post, Tuesday an- nounced plans for creating greater in- terest at legion meetings during the year. Banquet a Success One hundred members and friends of the post participated in the Armi- stice Night celebration at the North. field Inn last Saturday. Reports have it that the food was wonderful, enter- tainment excellent and the whole af- fair quite "swimming." A feature of the program was the installation of new post officers in a very impressive ceremony. Major Reed Landis, who was the guest of honor, gave a convincing talk on the work of the American Legion, its ideals and plans for the future. Arrangements for the entertainment were in the very capable hands of the incomparable duo, William McKin- fey' Kirby and Thomas Jefferson Lynch. Arcanum Indoor Boys Get Revenge on Evanston Crew Sweet revenge was the portion of the Winnetka Arcanum Indoor base- ball team, Wednesday of this week, when they trounced the Evanston brethren 7 to 4 in a very strenuous encounter. The lower north shore boys annexed the engagement in the previous week. Excitement and interest ran the course of the pastime. Evanston started out with a three run lead, but the locals came right back, send- ing four men over the platter in the third frame. Bailey. the Winnetka hurler, was invincible after the first inning, al- lowing but five hits all told. The locals collected ten solid blows off the delivery of Carlson and Clay, the former being removed in the ter- rible third. Xelley got three hits for Evanston, and H. Anderson helped himself to a similar dose in behalf of the home crew. Batteries were Bailey and Eckart; Carlson, Clay and Kilby. Arcanians Arrange for That Bunco Party and Dance Fete Again Winnetka funseekers are asked to bear in mind the evening of Tuesday, November 28, the occasion of the Bunco party and dance to be given by the Winnetka council, Royal Arcanum, at Community House. There is to be a distribution of prizes and a heap of wholesome fun. Telephone Central 7832 R. E. NORRIS President 1918 @ 125 Heaters 1919 WR 240 Heaters 1921 about the noise of Nokol ? An erroneous impression has grown up in some quarters--that Nokol is "noisy." Where this impression originated, we can't say. Not with Nokol owners, for we do know that they have no complaint to make of the "noise" of Nokol. We have never claimed that Nokol was "noise- less," because 70 mechanical device is ever abso- lutely silent. But the sound of Nokol is less than that of any other electrically driven household appliance. It is no more than a subdued murmur --the evidence of perfect fuel combustion. And unless you listen hard you'll never know Nokol is running. Of course, there are some ex- ceptions--old hot-air furnaces that are loose and act as a sound box, so that the sound might be objectionable. But Nokol at its "loudest" is silence itself compared to the shovelling of coal and the shaking of grates in a basement. If you want to know just how quiet Nokol is, come to our showrooms and let your own ears tell you. Remember, Nokol's operation -- every detail of it--is guaranteed on a money-back basis. Its efficiency is guaranteed by the most searching test known to heating engineers--the Orsat Test. All guarantees, all statements, are based on the actual experience of five years with 8225 homes where Nokol serves. We make no suppositions; we know. Come in or telephone us for the facts. Nokol burns oil in your present heating plant and does away forever with the uncertainty, dirt and drudgery of coal heating. Nokol can be installed in any type of home heating plant -- steam, hot water, vapor or hot air--without alterations. Nokol operates automatically -- the temperature is per- fectly controlled by a thermostat. The Chicago Nokol Company 215 North Michigan Ave. A. F.C. BECKFORD Vice-President N No I coal.
