Clark street, in Rogers Park, now under the direction of Newell and Retchin, pro- prietors of the Howard Theatre, and under the personal management of C. H. Cadwallader, is arranging pro- grams of exceptional worth for north shore theatergoers. An instance of the splendid attrac- tions booked at the Adelphi for the immediate future is the announcement that the program on Sunday, Novem- ber 26, will be headed by the inim - table Tom Mix in his recent success "Do and Dare." "The Sin Flood" shows at the Adelphi on Monday and Tuesday, No- vember 27 and 28 and Wednesday's presentation will include the excel lent photoplay, "Anna Ascends," star- ring Alice Brady. Thanksgiving Day will find the Adelphi prepared to offer a special holiday bill that should attract crowd- ed houses. "Without Compromise," featuring Dustin Farnum, is the prin- cipal number on the film program. The picture for December 1 and 2 1s "A Light in the Dark." Attractions booked for early Decem- ber include "Brawn of the North" and "The Kentucky Derby." HOWARD THEATRE Newell and Retchin's Howard Theatre starts off Thanksgiving week with ostentation in the presentation of the picturization of that famous classic "The Prisoner of Zenda." The film will show for four days, closing out on the eve of Thanksgiving Day. Tom Mix will provide interest at the Howard on Thanksgiving Day with his "Arabia," a film that is creat- ing favorable comment throughout the motion picture world, where it is con- sidered the famous cinema actor's most spectacular endeavor. "Skin Deep" is the vehicle for these popular stars and will be shown on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 27, 28 and 29. It is a Thomas H. Ince produc- tion endorsed by the American Legion.
