cgay Hb i WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1922 15 MERCHANTS TO INSURE FIREMEN AND POLICE Police and firemen in the village of New Trier township are to receive adequate protection for themselves and their families as the result of ac- tion taken by the New Trier Commer- cial association Monday of this week in adopting measures to provide life and accident insurance for men em ployed in those capacities. The contemplated protection cames under the designation of group insur- ance. Funds to defray the expense of this protection for municipal em- ployes are to be realized at a benefit entertainment or play to be given soon under the auspices of the Com- mercial association, it is announced. Police and fire departments in New Trier are not under civil service regulation and consequently the mem- bers are not beneficiaries of pension funds or adequate protection in the event of accident or illness. The in- surance contemplated by the Commer- cial association would secure adequate protection for the men and their fami- lies. "Mother Goose" Fair to Aid Old People's Home The Windsor Chapter of the Daugh- ters of the British Empire will hold a "Mother Goose" Fair at the Glencoe Masonic Hall Saturday, December 2, in aid of the British Old People's Home. There will be all kinds of "Mother Goose" booths where novelties for the children, as well as many useful ar- ticles will be sold. Punch and Judy will be there in the afternoon and up to date moving pictures will be shown both afternoon and evening. Dancing will continue from 9:30 to 11:30.
