WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1924 CHILDREN HAVE OWN SERVICES Junior Worship Hour Proves Popular The opening of the Junior worship service at the Winnetka Congregational church tomorrow morning, it is felt cer- tain, will be welcomed by the many boys and girls who have learned in past years how this special kind of church service gives them what they can understand and remember. The Winnetka church, with its two ministers and its two audi- ence roms, is equipped to offer both the Sunday morning service for adults, and the junior service for boys and girls, at the same hour. While the high school age children are encouraged to attend the adult service with their parents, those in the grades have the other ser- vice which is planned to come within their range of interest and understand- ing. Dr. J. W. F. Davies, minister of reli- gious education, leads this service, which is held in Rudolph Matz hall following the class work of the Church school. It is carefully planned each week in ad- vance; it varies on different Sundays; it ofen includes features that call out active particpation of the children them- selves, in the music of choirs and or- chestra, in the taking of the offering, in leading the readings, or in acting out dramatic illustration of the theme of the day.
