WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11, 1924 Looks Like a Big ~ Season for Young Folks Sunday Club By J. A. H. Well, folks, it looked last Sunday evening very much as though the Winnetka Sunday Evening club were going to re-incorporate as the An- anias club. At the instigation of "Dave" Lasier, the president, various members told of strange experiences of the past summer. We heard the inside story of Gen- eral Pershing's retirement and listened in awe to the recital of certain in- vestigations into supernatural phe- nomena as related by one of our vil- lage notables. No, we cannot mention names because the whole affair seemed like a meeting of the Ananias club. The point of this news note is that any one who was not present last Sunday evening missed a very enjoy- able time. (Even more enjoyable eve- nings are planned. See below.) The club has started with all the energy it had last spring and more too for a good many new members were ad- ded to the roll. Now as to future programs. The club will be presented with a wide variety of outside talent--musical pro- grams, dramatic readings, interesting lectures, and a host of other attrac. tive activities. It is darkly hinted that there will also be short Sunday afternoon hikes ending up at Com- munity House for supper, and later on when the weather is propitious there will be skating and sleigh-riding parties. So all you young folks, older than high school age, who have not yet joined, had better shake yourselves and climb aboard at the next meet- ing. Come to Community House (Camp Fire room) at 6:30 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, October 19. Sup- per will be served. Medicine will not help a con- dition of this kind, and glasses alone will relieve the strain. The drain on the nervous system of even a slight strain is responsible for a great many of our ills affecting the nerves, head and stomach. Indigestion and dizziness are amongst the most common symptoms of eye- strain. A Thorough Examination alone will reveal eyestrain. 14 Years of Successful Practice Dr. 0. H.
