IN SOCIETY ld Bargain Bazaar to Offer Unusual Features "TP ARGAIN Bazaar" is not a misnomer for the attractive affair to be given at the Sovereign hotel, Saturday, October 25, under the auspices of the American Opera Society of Chicago, Inc, to raise money for the purchasing of David Bispham memorial medals for: composers of American opera. There will be no ad- mission charge. From 10 o'clock in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon, more than 1,000 articles donated by or through the 60 members of the society will be on sale at extremely moderate prices. Tables with hats, glassware, lingerie, miscellaneous articles, 150 of which were brought from abroad, with many from Egypt, and a "Surprise Table" will offer their attractive wares inexpensively. Among the outstanding features of the day will be the auction sale at 5:30 o'clock which will offer among other bargains, several beautiful white collie dogs, "relatives" of the much pictured and talked of "White House Collie," that are arriving from Washington for the event. Mrs. Louis Boyson of Chicago (Winifred Lamb), will make some of her charming charcoal sketches of a few celebrities who will make their appearance during the afternoon. Between the hours of 2 and 4 members of the Pathe Picture company will take moving pictures. No large bazaar is complete without its tea room and during the afternoon this beverage will be served in the little room specially decorated for the Prince of Wales when he drank his cup of tea there Monday. The appointments are remaining as they were un- til after the bazaar. A musical program will be given during the tea hour, one number of which will be a Greek Dance played on two pianos, Mrs. Archibald Freer's own composition. Phillips of 1100 Grove street, Evanston, was recently elected president of the North Shore Alumnae association of the National Kinder- garten and Elementary college. At the alumnae luncheon held last Sat- urday at the North Shore hotel, Mrs. Philips outlined her plans for this year's activities for the association. Mrs. Phillips, formerly vice presi- dent of the Illinois Parent-Teacher association, is now president of the Central Council of Evanston's School clubs and chairman of the Pre- School committee.
