Soper, professor of the History of Religion-at Northwest- ern university, has been secured for a return lecture before the Winnetka Sun- day Morning Men's class tomorrow morning at 9:30 o'clock in Community House. In a lecture, a few weeks ago, en- titled, "How Shall. The Winnetka Trust and "Savings Bank approaches $1,200,000 in: total deposits, while the Winnetka - State 'Bank shows total deposits of $1,091, 109.36. "Total resources of 'the Winnetka State Bank are given as $1,203,760.15 'and total deposits of $1,091,109.36. At the Winnetka Trust and Sav- ings Bank the total resources show $1,239,453.66 and the total deposits are $1,181,273.22. Winnetka State Bank deposits show an increase of $224,433.24 since the report of January 1924; while those of the Winnetka Trust and Savings Bank show an increase of $198,385.29 over the January 1924 re- port. : The indicated wholesome growth of the banking houses bespeaks the in- terest and utmost confidence of the community in its own financial insti- tutions, declared a local business mat in commenting. on the recent bank statements. A Masonic Lodge in Special Meeting Tuesday Evening The Winnetka Masonic lodge, No. 1078, will hold a special meeting Tues- day evening, October 28, for work in the third degree. All members of the lodge are eligible to participate and it is re- ported that a large entry list has been compiled Two Police Officers Get Council $100 Hero Award The $100 bonus offer to members of the police department as an award for conspicuous services on duty was re- newed at the meeting of the Village council. Two members of the Winnetka police force have earned the bonus, it was announced at the council session. They were Sergeant John Iverson and Officer Christ Johanneson, who engaged in a duel with burglars last spring.
