Beals, in command of Camp Roosevelt, has just announced from his offices at the Board of Ed- ucation in Chicago, that through the efforts of Superintendent of Schools McAndrew and Angus S. Hibbard chairman of the Camp Roosevelt as- sociation, a part of the Fort Sheridan military reservation has been set aside by Secretary of War Weeks as the new location for the camp. This will interest boys from this community who have attended Camp Roosevelt in the past, and who may be contemplating another summer there. Plans are well under way for transfering the camp- ing equipment to the new site, which is 30 miles north of Chicago, and boasts a half-mile stretch of sandy Lake Michigan. Motor transports are making daily trips from the old campgrounds to the new, so that all will be in readiness for the campers on the opening date, June 29. With the background of an unusu- ally fine army post from which the troops have been withdrawn for the summer, and with the splendid facil- ities for conducting military manoeuv- ers in regulation army fashion on a government reservation, Major Beals anticipates that Roosevelt 'veterans' will find many new thrills awaiting them at the Forth Sheridan location. The camp will be on a level stretch of ground, which is well situated and beautifully adapted to the purpose. It will make athletics, drills, ceremonies and target practice easy because the parade ground, athletic field and target range adjoin the camp. There will be three divisions, as in the past; junior, R. O. T. C. and sum- mer schools, including seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and grades, and the camp will be conduct- ed for seven weeks. The Chicago Board of Education, under whose auspices the camp is con- ducted, maintains headquarters offices at 460 S. State street. Oak Park Man Purchases C. H. Carlstrand House Winnetkans are invited to attend annual Neighbors' Night at Commu- nity House Wednesday, April 29. A neighbor has issued the challenge in the following terms: Don't you wish you knew the name of the nice person you sat near in church last Sunday? And the new people you see on the trains as you go into town? How shall we keep alive that good old neighborly spirit? Why, by com- ing to Community House Wednesday, April 29, to "Neighbors' Night." Last year's good time is remem- bered by all who were there. This year's will be even better. And a good deal of the success depends on each one coming and bringing the newest neighbor he can find. You'll be surprised how many you know, and how many more you'll have a chance to know. ----_-- "Yoo-hoo! Skinnay !
