BUTLER of 715 Prospect avenue, is inviting the women of Christ church to a tea in her home and garden on Monday, May 25, at 4 o'clock, on the occasion of the annual spring collection in the parish of the women's United Thank Offer- ing. There is, of course, no stated sum for the offering. Each guest gives hers on arrival, and no one but the giver should know what the amount may be. The custodian of this fund could tell them it always includes everything from pennies to large-sized checks. The object is the support of trained women workers in the missions of the church in those places where the church feels they can most effectively render Christian service. The offering is gath- ered in approximately every parish in every diocese all over the world, and every woman member is privileged to share in it. Plan Annual Concert for Choir Bays' Camp HE annual concert for the camping fund of the Christ church choir boys will be held on Friday evening, June 5, at the home of Mrs. E. Mansfield Jones, 878 Tower road. The committee in charge consists of Mrs. Arch W. Shaw, chairman, and Mrs. Raymond Durham and Mrs. Ralph Hobart. Gymkhana Finale of Spring Events HE closing feature of the spring events given by the Indian Hill Riding club will be a gymkhana on the morning of Memorial Day on the shore of Lake Michigan on the George B. Massey beach. The riders will assemble at 7:15 o'clock, and take part in a beach ride which will be followed by a number of interest- ing and amusing competitive events displaying equestrian skill. These will include a saddling and unsaddling race, and a water jump. Mounted riders will also participate in a potato race. Mr. and Mrs. Massey will entertain the riders at breakfast at 8:30 o'clock. Phillips, 1110 Grove street, Evanston, president of the North Shore Alumnae association of the National Kindergarten and Ele- mentary college, is general chairman of arrangements for the presentation of the college students in their annual spring pageant. The entire student body of 400 will appear in the chorus and cast of this year's delightful en- tertainment, "persephone." This event will take place at the Evanston Country club Wednesday evening, June 3, with a children's matinee the following afternoon at 4 o'clock. Miss Anna F. All members of the Winnetka League of Women Voters are invited with other local leagues, to a tea given by the Illinois League of Women Voters at the Casino club on Thursday, May 28. This tea is given as a closing event for the membership drive that is now being conducted all over the state, and the various local leagues will report the results of the drive in their respec- tive districts. The party is given in honor of the new members, but old members are all cordially invited as well. The Winnet- ka league had its membership drive earlier in the year, so is not taking part in the general drive. The program will begin promptly at 2:30 o'clock and end at 4, when tea 1 will be served. --Q-- Miss Gwendolyn Pritchard is the guest of honor at a number of affairs during the last few weeks before her marriage.
