WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 1925 Work of Months Culminates in Big Eastern Star Bazaar £39003 consistently reasonable and a program diversely enter- taining will be the features of the bazaar sponsored by the Winnetka chapter of the Eastern Star, which is to be held at Com- munity House Wednesday, September 30. From 10 o'clock in the morning until late in the evening the interesting display and pro- gram will attract Winnetka residents. Afternoon bridge will begin at 2 o'clock, at 6:30 there will be a chicken dinner, which its planners claim will be worth all that will be charged for it. A card party after dinner will provide the early evening entertainment, and at 8:30 o'clock there will be dancing in Rudolph Matz hall. Refreshments will be served all during the evening in the Camp Fire room. Gifts for Christmas, children's clothing, baby goods, and toys are being made particular features by the merchandising end of the affair. The booths, and the chairman in charge of each, are: baby goods, Mrs. Harold D. Hill; children's clothing, Mrs. Lee Adams; toys, Mrs. George Hallstein; linen, Mrs. F. O. Neubacher; under- wear, Mrs. W. F. Groene; fancy work, Mrs. Richard Webster ; painted articles, Mrs. William Morse ; cushions and lamps, Mrs. Roy Whipple; grab-bag, Mrs. Carlstrand; candy, Mrs. Howard Bowers and Mrs. Norman; aprons, Mrs. Griggs; home-canned food, Mrs. Carlstein ; and the men's booth, F. M. Anderson. The chairmen of the general committees are: Mrs. Carlton Prouty, buying and sewing, Mrs. William H. Modes, general cashier ; Mrs. Forbes Cadenhead, card parties; Mrs. Mullen, decorations; Mrs. C. P. Jaedecke, the dinner; Mrs. Albert Martin, refreshments; and Mrs. Frank Anderson, the dance. Mrs. Delbert W. Poff of Walden road is general chairman for the entire bazaar. Owing to the death of Mrs. Wiliam C. Boyden's mother, Mrs. Susan M. Burlingham, Mr. and Mrs. Boyden recalled the invitations to the debut reception and dinner they had planned today for their daughter, Miss Eliza- beth. ---- Mr. and Mrs. George D. Smith and their two children returned Tuesday to their home at 1050 Private road after two months spent in England, where they visited Mrs. Smith's mother, Mrs. T. E. Wells. ---- Miss Edith Light, a former teacher in the Winnetka schools, spent a part of the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Lieber.
