"Anyone wishing to enter the class beginning September first, should send in her application a: once," Miss McCleery advises. Great Opportunities Speaking of the opportunities in the nursing profession today, Miss McCleery said: "There is no limit to what a girl can do. For private duty, trained nurses are receiving $40 or $50 a week salary. For other duty, salaries range from $75 per month to $3,000 and $4,000 annually." The directress also draws attention to the advantages offered through training at the Evanston hospital, many of which other institutions do not afford. "The environment and home-like atmosphere are particularly desir- able," said Miss McCleery, "and these things mean a great deal to the stu- dents. We have also just completed our new tennis court, so that we now have two courts for the use of the nurses. Two Courses Offered The Evanston hospital training | school offers two courses of training | to its student nurses. The diploma | course occupies a period of three years; the degree and diploma course five years. (This applies to girls who have completed a four-year high school course.) College graduates will receive credit for their work, de- pending upon the line of study they have pursued. The states are represented in the registrations so far for September, ac- cording to Miss McCleery. Over half of these have had at least one year of college, and seven of the total number are candidates for the de- grees. "For Sale" Ads Sell Lots and Lots of Lots Green Poliy Joins Buccaneer's Club "Poor Charley", Genuine African Par- rot, Talks Freely, Sings Terribly and Whistles, Too "The Port of Missing Men", the floating clubhouse of the Buccaneer's club swinging in its anchorage in the Gross Point Harbor at Wilmette, has secured a new and permanent mem- ber, due to the generosity of John Burnham, vice president of the club. "Poor Charley" talks with abandon, sings, whistles and otherwise prom- ises to be a welcome member of the crew. He has no bad habits as yet and is safe unless abused. No pirate ship in the olden days was complete without its green parrot who spoke of buried treasure and darksome deeds and this African bird of dis- tinction is a pleasing adjunct to the club. The fleet of one design cat boats which arrived early in July are con- stantly used by the members and close racing has resulted. Up to the present time Julian Armstrong, the club president, heads the list of win- ning points. West Virginia Exports Gas.
