Descendent of the original Happ family which settled in Winnetka in 1832, and for whom Happ Rd. in Northfield is named.
Born: in Northbrook when it was called Shermerville, he lived in the area his entire life.
Died: March 25 in Holy Family Hospital.
Employment: owned his own landscaping business in the village.
Education: graduated from St. George High School in Evanston, attended St. Norbert Church in Northbrook, and was a member of VFW Post 8859 in Glenview.
Survived by: wife, Kathryn; two children, Frank Happ of Buffalo Grove; James Happ of Muskegon, Mich.; three brothers: Joseph Happ of Mt. Prospect; Donald Happ of Wisconsin; Mathias Happ of Northbrook; and seven sisters: Margaret Demuth of Prairie View, Ill; Marian Bockman of Anaheim, Cal.; Mildred Schneider of Arlington Heights; Florence Melin of Wheeling; Louise Johnson of Wheaton; and Theresa Kilfoy of Mt. Prospect; and four grandchildren.
Funeral: Funeral services held March 29 at St. Norbert church. Arrangements handled by Hanekamp Funeral Home, Northbrook.
