TATE a a 20 WINNETKA TALK October 10, 1925 Autumn Color Scheme Feature of Recent Kenilworth Wedding Miss Louise Durham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Durham of Kenilworth, and Walter I. Mead of Wisconsin Rapids, were married Sat- urday afternoon, October 3, at the Kenilworth Union church, Dr. Ozora S. Davis of the Chicago Theological sem- inary, officiating. A ceremony at the residence of the bride's parents, 431 Abbottsford road, followed the service. Miss Emily Durham was her sister's maid of honor, and Mrs. John A. Cory was matron of honor. Miss Ethel McCall of Kenosha, Miss Anna Mar- garet Clifford of Racine, Miss Emily Phelps Mead, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Helen White of Wilmette, were the bridesmaids Stanton Mead acted as his brother's best man, and the ushers were Arthur Durham of Kenilworth, brother of the bride; Richardson Harwood of Natick, Mass, Whitney D Hobbs of Chicago, Gilbert K. Dickerman of Duluth, and John A. Cory of Chicago. Little Ran- dall Hathaway of New York City, a nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Autumn flowers adorned the church, and the bride was most becomingly gowned in white satin and silver lace. Her long train was lined with silver. The bridal attendants were attired in gowns of varying shades of peach color georgette and their hats were of brown velvet. The bride and groom have gone abroad, and upon returning from ther wedding trip, they will make their home in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis Miss Hazel Fraser, 645 Abbottsford road, Kenilworth, had a house party last week-end for the Pi Beta Phi chapter and its pledges at the summer home of her parents at McHenry, IIL Miss Teresa Backus, 245 Cumnor road, and Miss Mary Louise Harlan, 430 Sheridan road, are Pi Beta Phi pledges at Northwestern university. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Workman, 222 Leicester road, Kenilworth, and Mr. and Mrs. Merritt H. Dement of 337 Abbottsford road, left Friday to motor to South Bend, Ind, to be guests at the Country club over the week-end. --0-- Miss Helen Taylor, 310 Cumnor road, Kenilworth, motored with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gerould as far as Indianapolis last Friday, where she spent the week- end with Mr. and Mrs. Andrew M. Taylor. --C-- Gilbert Osgood, 423 Essex road, Kenilworth, and John Murray of Cum- nor road, left Saturday for Princeton. Robert Osgood is at Lake Forest academy this year. ---- Mrs. Howard Holbrook of Spring- field, Ill, was a guest this week at the home of her cousin, Mrs. John Benham of 165 Kenilworth avenue. --Q-- Mrs. J. A. A. Kasten are giving a luncheon and bridge Friday at the home of Mrs. Kasten, 220 Poplar street. Kenilworth Scout Wins "Eagle" Rank; Second in Village "Pep" Farley received his Eagle badge at the last meeting of the Kenil- worth Boy Scout troop held last Wed- nesday at the Community center. The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest honor which may be obtained in the Boy Scouts. Farley is the second scout in Kenilworth to achieve this honor, the other being Frank Watt. Officers of the troop who were elected at this meeting were as follows: Carl Keith, senior at New Trier high school, senior patrol leader; Ben Richards, scribe; Harold Keith, treasurer. The following scouts are candidates for ad- mission to the troop and are working on their tenderfoot requirements: Charles Van deVellde, Harry Richards, Red Howe, Tom Saxton, Robert Wil- son, George Burghardt, George Scott, Herbert Otten, Alfred Osgood, Claude Hamilton and Ralph Ingersoll. Mrs. Peter Nordquist, formerly Miss Vivian Witherbee, arrived Monday to visit her mother, Mrs. Arthur Haynes of 315 Cumnor road, Kenilworth. Mrs. Nordquist lives near Cody, Wyo.
