Suker, 1028 Starr road, Winnetka, will open her house for a small bazaar to be given by tlie Wom- an's auxiliary of the Maternity and Children's ward of the Post Graduate hospital at 2400 Dearborn street. In this ward the patients are taken re- gardless of creed or color, and given gratis nurse and doctor services, both medical and surgical. The proceeds of this bazaar are especially intended to aid the sick and crippled children. The bazaar will be open from 2 o'clock until 6 and the public is invited. After- noon tea will be served. The assist- ing hostesses are: Mrs. Edgar Crilly, Mrs. Walter Neilson and Mrs. Duane Peterson of Winnetka, and Mrs. Emil Staehlin of Glencoe. Woman's Catholic Club Greets Its New Members One of the large meetings of the autumn season was that given by the civics department of the Woman's Catholic Club of Wilmette, Mrs. Joseph Jenks, chairman, Friday af- ternoon, October 23, at the auditoriura of the St. Francis Xavier school, with many new members in attendance. The program was of two-fold in- terest, for Parnell Egan sang a group of songs and Madame Leila Blomfield gave an interesting talk on "The Smallest. Democracy in the World." Mrs. W. D. Leary, Mrs. C. F. Bunte and Mrs. A. M. Krafthefer were the hostesses of the afternoon. Woman's Ideal Club Holds Regular Meeting Friday A regular meeting of the Chicago Woman's Ideal club was held at the Blackstone hotel, October 30, at 11 o'clock in the morning. Mrs. Gustave A. Brand began a series of five mornings adapted to "The American Woman in the Home." The afternoon's program followed the serving of a luncheon at 12:30 o'clock, the first vice-president pre- siding. Lorna Doone Jackson, mezzo-so- prano with the San Carlo Opera com- pany, accompanied by Cara Verson, a noted pianist of Germany, were the guests of honor and the artists. Herbert B. Taylor, 631 Abbottsford road, Kenilworth, spent three days in Congressman to Address Library Club of Glencoe Henry Riggs Rathbone of Kenil- worth, congressman-at-large, a former president of the Hamilton club, and distinguished as an orator, will give a talk on "Life at Washington," be- fore the Woman's Library Club of Glencoe, Thursday, November 5. Mr. Rathbone was selected as the Lin- coln's birthday orator before the House of Representatives last year, and it is stated that his address de- livered before that body attracted widespread attention. Mrs. Gordon A. Ramsay is the hostess for October. Mrs. V. K. Spicer, 312 Essex road, and her mother, Mrs. Higginson, are motoring back to Kenilworth from their summer home in Massachusetts, and Mr. Spicer is making the journey by train.
