30 WINNETKA TALK October 31, 1925 Display Model Electric Home at Highland Park A modern home in which electricity will do practically all of the house- hold work will be opened Saturday. October 31, at 2 o'clock, at 1502 Green Bay road, Highland Park, by the North Shore Electric league. An invitation is extended the general public to visit this electric home during the exhibi- tion, which will continue for approx- imately two weeks. The rich beauty of old Spanish ar- chitecture combined with ultra mod ernness of the Twentieth ctntury are strikingly apparent in the Highland Park Electric home. The courtyard with its sparkling fountain, the long flight of stairs from the plaza leading up to the living room, the antique wrought ironwork about the windows, the nicely terraced lawn in which a built-in garage is concealed from the street--all are pleasing in their novelty and are direct deviations from the common place, it is explained. The novelty of the home is not confined altogether to the outside, the league asserts. Within, one is instantly delighted with the skillful way old Spanish architecture, with its sugges- tion of the Moorish, is combined with the present-day electrical age. Lamps galore add touches of live color to the stucco walls. Perfect illumination with its soft eye-pleasnig rays, enhances the rich interior and brings out the splen- dor of beautiful tapestries. Then too myriad of electrical appliances appeal to the women-folk who know what a task it is to run a home.
