T34-2te Pathfinders Start Year's Activities Next Friday The first meeting of the Pathfind- ers will take place at 4 o'clock on Friday afternoon, November 5, at Com- munity House. This club was a great success last year and included in its membership boys from 9 to 12 years of age. Any boy who joins must make up his mind in advance that he is going to stick throughout the year and he must come with his parents agreeing to his membership in the club. A regular advancement is possible to a boy who does the work which is required. COMEDIES FOR CENTER Viola Dana and Raymond Griffith to Provide Entertainment at Commu- nity House Next Week Two good comedies will be offered at Community House next week when Viola Dana in "The Beauty Prize" is featured at the Tuesday shows and Raymond Griffth in "Paths to Para- dise" at the Friday performances. The story of "The Beauty Prize" is by Nina Wilcox Putnam and has for its heroine a New York mancur- ist, who is mistaken for a society girl when her mother takes care of a wealthy matron's home during the summer, She enters a beauty contest, and is chosen to represent the state at the national finals. She wins and is about to accept the cash prize, when she de- cides she has triumphed under false pretenses, and gives the money back. In order to escape the publicity of her act, she steals away to a small town, and nearly starves. Then oc- curs a climax said to be the newest thing in climaxes. It takes two clever crooks to escape some half dozen traps laid for them in California coast cities while being chased from San Francisco to Tia Juana, Mexico, and back again by a troop of police, but Betty Compson and Raymond Griffth prove just that clever. The unusual chase provides much of the interest in "Paths to Par- adise," a fast-moving Paramount com- edy, which comes to the Community House next Friday. North Shore Women Aid Children's Home Bazaar Thursday, November 5, will be the date of a large bazaar to be given at the Blackstone hotel in Chicago for the benefit of the St. Mary's Home for Children, of Chicago, an Episcopal institution. The bazaar will start at 10 o'clock in the morning and there will be many choice and unusual things brought especially from Eng- land, France, Holland and other Eu- ropean countries for sale at reasonable nrices.
