Maurice Lieber of 468 Ridge avenue were guests of Mrs. Lieber's uncle and aunt at their home in Somers, Wis., Friday, December 18, on the occasion of a reception and dinner given in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the marriage of the elderly couple. Winnetka 1820 Tomorrow's Small Wedding Will Be of Interest Here Miss Freda Gross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Gross of Evanston will be married Sunday afternoon, December 20, to George Haskell, at the home of her parents, with just the two families and a few very in- timate friends present. Miss Gross has chosen the anniver- sary of her parents' marriage as her wedding day, and as it falls on Sunday, she has arranged a small, quiet serv- ice. Miss Gross and Mr. Haskell have a large circle of friends in Winnetka. OPEN HOUSE NEW YEARS At the New Year's tea to be given by John Robert Leonard and his son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Hibbard Casselberry, those assisting will be Mesdames Frank Andrews, W. E. Casselberry, Cornelius Lynde, John R. Montgomery, E. Ashley Gerhard, Morris L. Greeley, Hallett Thorne, William Gold Hibbard, III, Robert Gardner, and Robert Andrews. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Thiele, 1271 Asbury avenue, have returned from Florida where they spent three weeks. PRESENT XMAS PLAY Fach of the Winnetka schools pre- sented the "Christmas Ritual," a short play of the Christmas spirit, at the schools Friday of this week. The play was written by Miss Douglass Whitehead and is accompanied by many beautiful Christmas carols. The Chi Psi fraternity, founded at Union college, Albany, N. Y., in 1841, as one of the first five college societies in America, will hold a dinner-dance at the Drake hotel December 23. Geér- ald Burnham is one of the active Win- netka members.
