Volunteers Contribute Xmas Baskets to Needy More than 1,500 baskets containing large Christmas dinners were given out December 24 to the worthy poor of Chicago and its suburbs by the Vol- unteers of America. All baskets were to be distributed to families who hold cards from the Christmas Bureau of Chicago a bureau created to check up on all names of unfortunates submit- ted by charitable organizations and to thus prevent duplication of effort.
