January 2, 1926 WINNETKA TALK Woman's Society Is Offering Program of Unusual Attraction popular Wednesday, January 6, the Woman's society begins the new year with an exceptionally attractive program. The morning sewing and social "get together" time will last from 10 o'clock until 12. Devotions will be led by | Mrs. Jerome Clark from 12 until 12:15, | and luncheon will be served at 12:15 | o'clock as usual. At 1 o'clock, Rev. Albert Palmer, D.D.,, of Oak Park, will show ster- eopticon pictures of Hawaii and teil of his life in the islands. Dr. Palmer is an unusually delightful speaker and in great demand, therefore you are urged not to miss this opportunity. This is the only meeting of the Woman's society in January on ac- count of the annual church dinner which comes Wednesday, January 20. But the February meeting will be unique. Watch for the notice of it! Mr. and Mrs. William Ogden Green of Locust road had as their guests over the Christmas holiday, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Carpenter, their son-in- law and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Green, their son and daughter- in-law. --e Miss Margaret Boyden of 725 Pine street, a Junior league member, is tak- ing the part of a dwarf in "Snow White," now being played Saturday mornings at the Playhouse. Miss Boyden is also serving on the adver- tising committee. --_--Q-- The Chicago and North Shore col- lege club of Notre Dame university gave its annual holiday party at the Chez Pierre Monday evening, Decem- ber 28. | will begin promptly | ' Fine Music Promised for Firemen's Dance The "Night Owls," a new and very north shore dance orchestra | will furnish the music at the annual Firemen's Masquerade ball, to be held this year on Saturday evening, January 16, at the Community house. The dance at 8 o'clock and will last until after midnight. The "Night Owls" are an eight-piece aggre- gation composed mostly of New Trier High school students. They play excel- lent dance music, it is said, and can be counted upon to add greatly to the success of the dance. Prizes are to be given for the best costumes and the exact number to be awarded will be announced later. ATTEND DANCE Alumni and undergraduate students of the University of Illinois held their annual informal dance at the Drake hotel Tuesday, December 29. The stu- dents in town for the holidays always attend the affair with enthusiasm, and the alumni welcome this opportunity to renew their old friendships. A large number of Winnetkaans, both alumni and undergraduates arranged to at- tend. Mrs. Ernst von Ammon of 420 El- der lane was in charge of the music program for children, given by chil- dren, at the Winnetka Woman's club by the music department of the club.
