January 2, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 19 | Wilmette Chapter, Eastern Star, In- | vites Public to Installation of Offi- cers Next Monday Night INDUCT STAR LEADERS Public installation of the new offi-| cers of Wilmette Chapter, No. 753,| Order of Eastern Star, takes place Monday evening, January 4, at the Winnetka Masonic temple, 708 Elm street, Winnetka, the hour being 8 o'clock. The ceremony is open to all members and friends of the order. Featuring the installation ceremony will be an escort provided by the fa- mous drill team of St. Bernard's Com- mandery of Chicago, of which Victor H. Martin, brother of the newly elected worthy matron, is generalis- simo. The installation is to be in charge of Mrs. Nellie Meyers, past worthy grand matron, who will be assisted by the following: Mrs. Maude Blair, past worthy matron, Golden Rod Chapter, marshall; Mrs. Vivian Scott, past worthy grand matron, chaplain; Orian Galitz, organist; Mrs. Maybelle Buck- ley, grand lecturer, mistress of cere- monies; Charles C. Schultz, Edward Hoffman, and Roy Hopkins, escorts; Joseph Wilson, color bearer; Mrs. Anna Venton, retiring worthy matron, and Paul Hoffman, retiring worthy patron. Officers to be installed include: Mrs. Lillie Hoffman, worthy matron ; Raymond Rabe, worthy patron; Mrs. Eva Pyfer, associate matron; Mrs. Grace Skelton, secretary; Mrs. Al- berta Orner, treasurer; Mrs. Lilla Watkins, conductress; Mrs. Ida Birr, associate conductress; Mrs. Martha Yarian, chaplain; Mrs. Clara Hooper, marshall; Mrs. Helen Cook, organist; Mrs. Una Snyder, Adah; Mrs. Alma Muehlberg, Ruth; Mrs. Jennie Procter, Esther; Mrs. Anna Sanders, Martha; Mrs. Charlotte McClure, Electa; Mrs. Elizabeth Lundin, warder; Mr. Harry Berndtson, sentinel; Mrs. Bertha Darling, soloist; Mrs. Maude Burgess, correspondent. Following the installation there will be a musical program given by Miss Edna Oberg, violinist; Jack Iffland, xylophonist; Mrs. Bertha Darling, soprano, and the Messrs. Ranous and vi Mallory. Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Connor, 1152 Hamptondale road, will have as their guests for New Year's dinner, Mr. and Mrs. James P. Gillies and family and Mr. and Mrs. Warren C. Agry. ---- Mrs. M. E. Springer, 411 Maple ave- nue, Wilmette, representative from this district, is reported recover- ing slowly from a severe attack of acute sciaticneuritis. He has been confined to his home for several weeks but is now well on the road to recovery, members of the family re- state port. Mr. Springer has been representa- tive from this district for several terms and has been particularly ac- tive in furthering the agricultural in- terests of the state. It was largely through his efforts that the legislature appropriated funds for the establish- ment of an agricultural experimental station in Cook county. He has also been keenly interested in the preser- vation of forest tracts and the estab- lishment of state forest lands.
