26 WINNETKA TALK January 16, 1920 St. John's Basketball Team to Play St. Luke's The St. John's church basketball team will meet the St. Luke's team of Chicago in a game at the Broadway Armory, Chicago, Monday night, Jan- uary 18. The team played the Evanston Eagles at the Howard gym Thursday of this week. Members of the local squad include George Estes, R. Flint, H. Flint, C. Johnson, George Mergen- thaler, R. Wolff, H. Zibble and C. Knobel. Red Cross Drive Brings $153,000 in Chicago Area Approximately $153,000 was raised in Chicago and its suburbs in the re- cent Red Cross Roll Call campaign, according to word from Thomas M. Temple, executive secretary of the Chicago Chapter of the American Red Cross. Rieke, to Wayne Van Leer Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank KE. Jones of Kansas City, which took place Thursday evening, January 14, at the Sovereign hotel, is of interest here as both young people are North- western graduates and have many friends on the North Shore. Miss Rieke is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Mrs. Thomas A. Berry of Sheldon, lowa, was matron of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Charlotte Sidle of Van Wert, Ohio, Miss Helen Dyche of Evanston, Miss Eleanor Jones of Kansas City, and Miss Elizabeth Renifit of Chicago. H. Leonard Sidle of Van Wert, Ohio, served Mr. Jones as best man, and the ushers were Judson Stone of Wil- mette, Charles Barker of Evanston, Albert Keeley of Chicago and John Bergstresser of Kansas City. Follow- ing a honeymoon trip to California, Mr. and Mrs. Jones will make their home in Kansas city. A tea will be given at the Casino club next Wednesday afternoon for the Illinois Children's home.
