January 16, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 35 CASTLE SCORES SMALL AT VOTERS' MEETING (Continued from page 1) the fifth district, gave a witty and sprightly talk following Mr. Castle. Calls Government Social "Women's training has always been social," said Mrs. Goode, "But govern- ment has always been social and there- fore women should be in it." She de- clared that modern science has taken hold of most of the processes formerly carried on by women--sewing, baking, spinning, etc. Processes of this kind are now regulated in the city hall, in Springfield and in Washington instead of in the home. Any women who thinks she can meet her responsibilities within the four walls of her home is mistaken, accord- ing to Mrs. Goode. The Voters league should make women realize this. Wom- en must learn together, not alone. Clubs are provided so that women may learn the technique of the co-operative method. Miss Elizabeth Gemmill, chairman of the committee on citizenship and elec- tien, was in charge of the meeting. Luncheon was served to 100 women and the business of the meeting carried through with despatch during the luncheon so that the speaking began promptly at 1:15 o'clock. Mrs. Walter Benson, president of the league, was in the chair. Expect "Poppy Lady" to Lecture on North Shore An interesting personage, who, it is expected, will give talks along the north shore, is Mrs. H. B. Jackson of the Empress hotel, Victoria, B. C., who has been called the "Poppy Lady of the Canadian Pacific Rockies" because she was instrumental in having the won- derful poppy field planted at Lake Louise. Mrs. Jackson is to be in Chicago this winter for the purpose of acquainting travelers with camp fire life in the great northwest. She will speak at a num- ber of woman's clubs along the north shore, the dates to be announced later. Well groomed women know the necessity of skin and scalp treatments.
