Appropriate $20,000 for Water Plant Facilities The appropriation of $20,000 from the water fund for the purpose of con- structing additional intake facilities at the municipal pumping station was voted at the meeting of the Village council held last Tuesday evening. The additional intake facilities are needed in order to handle the heavy demand for water in possible dry weather dur- ing the coming season, and are made particularly necessary by the extremely low level of the lake, it was said by Village Manager H. L.. Woolhiser. The lake level is lower than ever before in the history of government reeords, and that condition reduces the capacity of the present intake. It is planned to have the improvement installed and ready for use by June 1, it was said. 0. E. S. MEETS MONDAY The regular meeting of: Winnetka Chapter No. 942, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held Monday evening, February 22, at 7:30 o'clock, in its chap-- ter rooms in the Masonic temple.
