Day-Peirce Wedding in Christ Church a Lovely Easter Event The ceremony for the wedding of Miss Dorothy Day, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lewis Day, and Stanley Keith Peirce of Evanston was one of the loveliest of the early spring wed- dings in the village. The ceremony took place at 4:30 o'clock in picturesque Christ church. The Rev. E. Ashley Gerhard read the marriage ritual. The lighted cathedral tapers at the altar and quantities of Faster lilies mingled with pink spring blossoms at the chancel, and huge clus- ters of Faster lilies with long satin bows fastened to the pews in the cen- ter aisle, produced a most beautiful and artistic effect, and the organ rendition of songs of long ago was delightful. The bridal gown was a beautiful creation of ivory satin trimmed in pearls, and the long tulle veil combined with rare old family lace was fastened to the coiffure with sprays of real orange blossoms sent by a friend in Florida. Her bouquet was of garde- nias and valley lilies. The matron of honor, Mrs. Thomas Hough of St. Louis, and the brides- maids, Mrs. Lewis Andrew Day and Mrs. John Magie, wore gowns of deli- cate yellow chiffon with silver lace flares bordering the skirt, and their hats were large, of black horsehair, each trimmed with a flat yellow rose. They carried large bouquets of mixed spring blossoms. John Knoche served Mr. Peirce as best man and the ushers were Lewis Andrew Day, John Magie, James Keith, and Perry Buchanan. The reception followed at Craigie Lea, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andres MacLeish of Glencoe, grandparents of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Peirce left for a wed- ding trip to Asheville, N. C., after which they will reside in Evanston. Tailor-made finances. now showing a very attractive and durable SCHULTZ Clothes!
