Miss Alles was 59 years old. She is survived by four | sisters, Misses Lena and Anna Alles, with whom she lived at the Hill road address, Mrs. Mary Coutre, of 989 Spruce street, Winnetka and Mrs. Katherine Schrieber, residing on | Devon avenue, Chicago. One brother, | Frank Alles, resides at 1636 Lake ave- nue, Wilmette. Funeral services were conducted from Sacred Heart church, at Hubbard Woods, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial was at St. | Joseph's cemetery, Wilmette. Saban Winnetka Artist Wins Award for Skokie Scene Announcement was made at the Art League dinner held Thursday evening, April 15, of the award received by Hugo Von Hofsten, Winnetka artist, for his painting of a Skokie Landscape on display at the Swedish-American ex- hibit in Chicago. Mr. Von Hofsten drew first prize out of a group of eight paintings, through the impartial decision of a jury of six people, four of whom had never seen the Skokie district but never-the-less could appreciate through the admirable technique and depicting powers of Mr. ! Von Hofsten's brush this remarkably beautiful bit of country.
