3 ' July 10, 1926 WINNETKA TALK Charles Tyrell, Old Resident Here, Buried This Week Charles T. Tyrrell of 555 Ash street, a resident of Winnetka for 18 years, died at the Evanston hospital Wed- nesday morning, following a very brief illness. Mr. Tyrrell was in his seventy- seventh year. Although born in Wau- kegan, he spent practically his entire life here and in Chicago. For half a century he was actively affiliated with the commercial interests of Chicago, a part of that time in the real estate business. He never married. His father, the late John A. Tyrrell, first came to Chicago in 1845 and with the exception of a brief residence in Waukegan continued to reside there until his death. The only surviving member of the immediate family, Fred S. Tyrrell, resides at 559 Arbor Vitae road, Winnetka. Funeral services were conducted from the residence, Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, by Rev. James Austin Richards, of the Winnetka Congrega- tional church. Burial was at Rosehill cemetery. Three Lodge Chapters to Hold Picnic Sunday Three chapters of the I. O. O. F. lodge will join together for a picnic, Sunday, July 11, at the Riverside For- est Preserve. Evanston, Wilmette and Northbrook chapters, including the Rebecca lodges are invited, and will gather at the preserve for an all-day outing. The preserve is located at Harms road and Harrison street. Every form of out-of-door-picnic en- tertainment is being arranged for, slow races for the fat men, potato races for the thin ones. Horseshoe contests will be held, a ball-game is scheduled, and ice-cream and cracker- jack will be served. Start Construction on Kenilworth Water Tower That steel frame work rising into the air on the east of Ridge road and so plainly discernible as one ap- vroaches Winnetka avenue in driving on Ridge avenue, is the new water tower which the village of Kenilworth is erecting on Houldsworth avenue, in the northwest part of the village. It will have a capacity of 200,000 gallons. Its erection was authorized by the village about a year ago to meet the increased demands for water as a re- sult of the steady growth in popula- tion and expansion of the community. The one tower from which the vil- lage has been supplied, has not suffici- ent capacity to meet this need.
