Will Appoint New Plan Commission Officially Here An ordinance officially appointing a Winnetka Plan commission was intro- duced at the council meeting held last Tuesday evening and will probably come up for passage at the next meet- ing, to be held Tuesday evening, Au- gust 17. This action was taken at the request of Robert Wallace of the present Plan The reason for officially appointing a commission by ordinance is that a body so appointed now has certain powers under a. state law pas- sed in 1921 to regulate development in territory contiguous to and not more than one and one half miles from the village limits. It is the plan of Wallace and his as- sociates on the Plan commission to control to a certain extent the layout of streets in new subdivision projects under way west of the village. The new body will consist of twenty mem- bers, two appointed from each ward, in addition to the village president and three other village officers. Miss Kathleen Air and her mother, Mrs. Robert Air, of Evanston, left Au- gust 5 for the East. After visiting in Boston and New York, they will take the boat trip from New York to Nor- folk, Va., where they will be joined v their cousin, Mrs. James J. Keekin, with whom they will motor to Cincin- nati, Ohio. After visiting relatives in Kentucky and Ohio, they will return to Chicago about September 8, as Miss Air will open her studio on Septem- ber 10. -- Mrs. Mary Klauke, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Klauke and Roman Klauke are spending two weeks in Detroit, Mich., visiting Joseph Klauke, son of Mrs. Mary Klauke.
