Bach, president of the Bach Brick company, of Chicago, and his family who are now at their sum: mer home at Fox Lake, are looking forward to an early occupancy of their beautiful new home, which North Shore Homes, Inc., is building for them at the southeast corner of Thirteenth street and Greenwood ave- nue, Wilmette. Mr. and Mrs. Bach hope to be in their new home in time for their three daughters to enter school and kindergarten, at the open- ing of the school term next month. This is one of the prettiest homes built in Wilmette this season, costing, it is said between $50,000 and $60,000. The North Shore Homes, Inc., of which Gale M. Brooks, of 835 Fif- teenth street, Wilmette, is president, were not only builders but also looked up the site and arranged the plans for the building. The architectural design of the house is Italian, comprising seven- rooms on the first floor, six on the sec- ond, a finished attic and with a billiard room and children's play-room in the basement. Both the house and the three car garage are of solid brick, buff color and texture finish, with gen- erous trimming of Indiana lime stone. There is also a large living porch off the living room, facing Greenwood ave- nue, a large dining porch off the din- ing room, fo the south and also a breakfast nook off the kitchen. Sev- eral new finishes have been developed with pleasing effect in the texture plaster walls and ceilings of the first floor rooms. Leading to the second floor is a spacious open colonade, with floral rope columns and wrought iron rails running between them. The master bath, a spacious room 12 by 16, is one of the outstanding fea- tures. The floor, wainscoting, shower stall and a huge tub in the center of the room are all done in a pretty blu- ish green tile, identical with that used in the new president's suite in the Hotel Sherman. The trim is black. A china dressing table and dental lava- tory are additional features in this bath room. The girls' bath is done in shell pink, throughout, with a shower over the tub. There are also two other bath rooms. The development of this beautiful home is on a nicely wooded lot, 75 by 186 feet, with the house fronting the long way of the lot, on Thirteenth street, all of which, when landscape plans are completed, will present one of the most attractive homes in the village. Miss Mary and S. Bowles King, 672 Maple street, left Saturday, August 14, to spend three or four weeks on the Diamond G. ranch in Wyoming. The new building is located at the northeast corner of Lake avenue and Seventh street, one of the most desirable building sites left in this section of the village. Eighteen thousand dollars is the price -specified as the cost, in the building permit, which amount it is said will be con- siderably exceeded before the com- pletion of the present plans. It is hoped to have the building done by the middle of November. The house, of colonial type, is fit- tingly designed for the location. In addition to the nine rooms there will be three baths, and many late features will be embodied in the design and construction. Insulex will be used throughout for insulation. It -is planned to heat with gas, but a New- port boiler also will be installed. There will be a two-car brick garage. A lawn sprinkler system with fourteen outlets will be installed.
