Rich, 1409 Scott avenue, Winnetka, will occur Saturday, October 16, at 8:30 o'clock in the First Congregation- al church, Minneapolis. Following the wedding a reception will be held at the University club in Minneapolis. Miss Buffington attended the Univer- sity of Minnesota one year and Smith college three years, graduating a year ago this June from Smith. While at Minnesota she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Mr. Rich was grad- vated from the University of Illinois in 1925, and is a member of Beta Theta Pi. Chicago Commons Tots Enjoy Winnetka's Beach Thirty-five children from the Chica- go Commons spent a glorious day Wednesday picnicking on the beach, playing games and swimming. The group was taken from the Commons by counsellors, and met with cars at the station in Winnetka. Box lunches were prepared by members of the Lin- den avenue circle of Winnetka, who were sponsoring the picnic, and served to the children at noon. Miss Harriet Childs, 906 Oak street, and Miss Jean- nette Flaherty, 817 Judson "avenue, Evanston, had charge of the children during the entire day, and saw that they were safely put on thé car to go back to the city at 5 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Vail have an apartment in Evans- ton | New Chrysler '50' Given Reception by Motor Fans The Chrysler Corporation announces today a new four cylinder motor car-- the '50, at the lowest prices for which a Chrysler has ever: been sold. Its three models--coupe, coach and four- door sedan--are priced at $750, $780 and $830, f. 0. b. Detroit. Better riding comfort, greater room- iness, a full sized car in which modern space engineering has been surprising- lv utilized, easier handling, speed with comfort up to the car's maximum, the economy of 25 miles per gallon of gasoline--these and other features, notably the apparent great value built into the car, are expected by the Chrysler organization to make the new car an immediate outstanding success in the small car field. The car is now on display at the Evanston Motor Sales company, local Chrysler dealer. Announcement of the new '50°. marks the fourth and final step in Walter P. Chrysler's gigantic Quality Standardization plan of build- ing four quality cars to supply the four greatest motor car markets--un- der one name, by one manufacturing organization, engineered by the same group of men to one quality standard, built in one group of plants, and economically marketed by one unified distributing organization. Prices of the car indicate strongly the tremendous advantages of group manufacture under Mr. Chrysler's Quality Standardization plan, with its practical advantages of low-cost pro- duction of each Chrysler model. The new car is being built in the company's Highland Park plant, where the '60° is also manufactured. Special facilities for its manufacture, includ- ing extensive new buildings and equip- ment, have been provided under a con- struction program that was started last December.
