A October 9, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 31 Stage and Screen News and Reviews NORSHORE THEATRE The photoplay version of "The Gay | Deceiver," famous stage success which | served as a vehicle for Leo Ditrich- stein, is coming to the Norshore thea- tre Sunday, with Lew Cody in the title role that Ditrichstein played on the stage. Cody plays the part of a Paris mati- nee idol enmeshed in a hilariously fun- ny series of domestic entanglements caused by his engaging mischief. Others in the brilliant cast are Mar- celine Day, Carmel Myers, Dorothy Phillips, Roy D'Arcy, Malcolm Mec- | Gregor and Edward Connelly. "Variety," almost direct from its showing at the Roosevelt theatre comes starting Thursday. It is hailed as the finest film to arrive in this country from Europe. Emil Jannings and Lya de Putti are the featured players. THE HOYBURN Three entertaining features make up the advance bill announced today by the management of the Hoyburn. The current showing in "The Texas Streak," an hilarious western comedy starring Hoot Gibson, who plays a fowhoy role opposite Blanche Mehaf- ey. Monday will bring "Broken Hearts of Hollywood," the story of a film star's struggles, with the cast includ- ing Patsy Ruth Miller, Louise Dresser and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. Norma Shearer in "The Waning Sex" will be on the screen with Wed- nesday's change of bill--a farcical comedy adapted from the stage play of the same title. THE NEW EVANSTON Several thousand Indians, a half dozen troops of cavalry, frontier men and women of the period of 1876 and numerous plainsmen and pioneers from part of the cast of the big spectacular production, "The Flaming Frontier," the current attraction at the Evanston theater. THE NEW CAMPUS A Rudolph Valentino picture, "The Delicious Little Devil," will be one of the features of a double-header bill to be shown Saturday at the New Campus theater. Mae Murray plays opposite the late screen idol. The other picture will be Buck Jones in "Flying Horses." Today an all-star cast is shown in "The Flame of the Yukon," a photo- play of gold rush days in the Cana- dian northwest with Seena Owen in the leading role. The big bathing beauty contest will also be featured on the screen. Tomorrow there will be another double feature performance including Tom Mix in "The Deadwood Coach" and John Bowers, Edward Burns and Marguerite De La Motte in "Those Who Dare." Albert Kurrle of Dallas City, who is visiting the J. P.
