Motor Bus Lyman Dean of Highland Park, driv- er of a North Shore motor bus and Emil Bornhoeft, of Northbrook, a passenger, were instantly killed Mon- day morning at the railroad crossing in Northbrook by train No. 139 on the Chicago Milwaukee and St. Paul rail- road. Six of the many children who also were passengers on the bus, on their way to High school at Highland Park were slightly injured. The accident occured at 7:30 o'clock. The load of passengers had been ob- tained in the west part of the village, and, upon approaching the tracks, the driver of the bus found the gates up, although it was time for the south bound train. The gateman, Henry Goss, who had been taken suddenly ill and had momentarily left his signal tower, said the train was not in sight when he left. Dean is a married man 35 years of age and is survived by a wife and three children. Bornhoeft, who was 60 years old is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. He was a cigar maker em- ployed at Highland Park. The high school children injured were Jean Mclauchlan, Alice Land- wehr, Marcella Kydon, Charles Cheri- en, Margaret Schict and George Mier, all of Northbrook. INVITATION IN VERSE "The attic and cellar In twilight glow! Witches and goblins Who hoot at you so, Will make you scream From sheer dread fright, And horrible dreams Will be yours that night!" So ran the invitation, or summons, of the Alumnae association of the Na- tional Kindergarten and Elementary college to the students for the annual Hallowe'en party, given in Harrison hall on Thursday afternoon, Octo- ber 28, from 4 to 6 o'clock. And the students, undaunted by the dread threats, accepted the summons--and not one regretted her rashness. Correct Glasses will improve your health as well as your vision.
