Mr. Ufer's brilliant paintings of the western country have drawn many ad- mirers to the exhibition. Art lovers have only a few more days to view the canvases, as the exhibition is to close on Monday, December 20. At the reception Mr. Ufer was pres- ent to meet the guests, and talk with them about his work. During the af- ternoon Mrs. Richard Trusdell of Ev- anston and Mrs. Clarence Eddy of Chicago sang several groups of songs. Mrs. Frank Cherry of Kenilworth was in charge of arrangements for the afternoon. The hostesses receiving were Mrs. Otis Allen, Mrs. F. O. Bowe, Mrs. James Day, Mrs. Earl DeMoe, Mrs. Robert Fulton, Mrs. John Land- reth, Mrs. James E. Lukey, president, and Mrs. John Marshall Roberts. Mrs. Joseph G. Werner, Mrs. Arthur | Adair, Mrs. J. Matz hall was filled both Wednes- |day and Thursday nights with appre- | ciative listeners. To every one concerned most sin- |cere praise should be given, and es- pecially to William Boyden, Jr. for | his masterly interpretation of Scrooge, to Mrs Mettler, inimitable as Mrs. Dilber, and to Alber Martin as Mor- |ley's ghost. The dancers, the carol |singers, the chimes player, who gave | "Silent Night"! were all memorable and greatly added to the beautiful |effect which culminated in the Christ- [mas tree with its star shining through the softly falling snow The thanks of the community are {due the Community Drama club, and to those members who gave of their {busy holiday hours to make it pos- [sible. Thanks are due especially to Mrs. Merritt Lum, director, Mrs. Rog- er Ballard for the costumes, and to |A. Montague Ferry and Mr. Goble who {directed the stage crew. The proper- |ties were taken care of by Mrs. Coyne 'and Mr. Cary-Curr. The music was |arranged by Mrs. Arthur Dean. The members of the quartet who | sang were Sherman Orwig, who sang | the solo carol at the beginning, and | Davies Lazear, Alired Freeman, and [Arthur Dean. Ludwig Martin played the chimes.
