New Trier Girls Begin Basketball Season This Week This week sees not only the opening of the boys' basketball season, but al- so that of the girls who deserve some recognition for their efforts as well as their fellow athletes. As far as New Trier girls are concerned, basket- ball has always been by far the most popular sport, and from the looks of things this week at the first practices, it promises to still hold full sway. Basketball will have several added attractions this year in addition to its former lures. First of all, the girls will play two-court basketball instead of three-court as formerly. This type of game is a faster and more interest- ing one, and calls for players who are alert. Two-court basketball is now being played in all the leading colleges and schools, and so New Trier girls will find it to their advantage to play this game, the athletic department de- clares.
