36 WINNETKA TALK December 18, 1926 Homecoming Dance a Holiday Contact for Young Folk North Shore Juniors Have Benefit Dance on Thursday Evening Bu JEAN TEN BROECK With new invitations arriving every day, the Christmas vacation begins to look like one series of progressive parties. Thursday, December 23, offers one night when all groups of young people will have an opportunity to greet each other. The North Shore Homecoming dance will be held at the Orrington hotel en route for those re- turning from the city and accessible to those who begin their evening of parties further north. The Barbary Coast orchestra, to- gether with some special entertain- ment in soft shoe specialties, will pro- vide fun and entertainment for all. To illustrate how wide has grown the original home circle of boys and girls, the guests invited to only one of the dinner parties preceding the dance in- clude students from the University of Illinois, Northwestern, Abbott acad- emy, Exeter academy, the University of Chicago, Amherst college, Rosemary school and others. One small group spread out in so many directions proves how easy it is for friends and neighbors to lose touch with old ac- quaintances, unless the home environ- ment offers some easy way of approach and contact. At this time, when all of the boys "and girls have not yet returned from their schools and colleges, much of the planning for their holiday pleasure rests with their mothers, one of whom sends this message to all, "'Lest auld acquamtance be forgot' be sure and include this homecoming dance in your program for Thursday evening, December 23. Tickets either may be secured at the door, oor by calling Miss Gwendolen Washington at Glencoe 191. All club mem- bers' children over ten vears of age are "invited and guest tickets may be ob- tained for those not sons and daugh- ters of members, at the door.
