- BW January 1, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 25 Thirteen Coppers Take Examination for Sergeant Job This has been the week of exams at Winnetka police headquarters where all of the fifteen members of the force except two, are taking examination for appointment as sergeant. Two desk sergeants and one patrol ser- geant are to be appointed. The two officers who are not writing the ex- amination are William Burgdorf, who did not care to enter the contest, and John Dehmlow, the veteran member of the force, who, when he desires, may retire on pension. Seventeen of the thirty-six questions were written Tuesday and the exam- ination was to have been concluded Wednesday. Chief Peterson and Offi- cer Harry Enault were called into Federal court on Wednesday, in the Mary Curruti case and the examina- tion on the remaining nineteen ques- tions was postponed. The thirteen officers who are taking the examination are, llugene Schubert, Fd Cummings, Rhys Fuidge, Frank Rayburn, Carl Bishop, Dudley Ev- erett, Harold Lewis, William Cazel, Pat Murray, Charles M. Bemus, Har- ry C. Enault, J. G. Boyd and Christ Johanesen.
