Davis Edwards to Give First Talk of New Trier Series A new project in any line of work or play is always interesting, for it is the new things of life that claim the attention of the people as a whole. Just at present there is a project on foot at New Trier High school that is arousing the interest of many peo- ple. Four well known speakers are to lecture or give readings at New Trier under the sponsorship of the Dramatic club of that school. This is a great chance, the club feels, to widen its knowledge of the drama and things dramatic. The first speaker is Prof. Davis Ed- wards of Chicago university, who on Monday, January 17. at 3:15 o'clock, will give a reading from "Macbeth." The reading is to take place in the New Trier auditorium. Prot. Ed- wards, who is connected with the pub- lic speaking department in the Divin- ity School of the University of Chi- cago, is a splendid reader, and his voice is the kind that grips an audi- ence, so fired is it with personality. He has had a great deal of experi- ence as a reader and as an actor, and last spring he appeared with the Good- man theater company as "Eyeryman" in the play of that name. This will be Prof. Edward's second journey to New Trier, for two years ago he read a Dunsany play before the Dramatic club there. EE : Although this lecture series is pri- marily for students, it is also open to the public as a whole. And anyone who is interested in dramatic work will be welcome.
