Playing with the resident pro, Lloyd Greenmyer, and city champion Don Newburn, he made a 70. Up to this time, the course record was 72, held jointly by Pro. brother Harley. Hartshorn made a 73 the day before, playing for the first time on the Whit- field Estates course, in a foursome with Jim Senter, William Van Dame and Louis Lancaster. Winnetka people will remember that in June of 1926, Hartshorn placed third in the qualifying rounds of the Nation- al Open Golf championship at Calumet Golf club. During the summer he is professional at Briergate Golf club, Deerfield, IIL Greenmyer and his North Shore Boy 'Scouts Join in Demonstration Thursday and Friday evening, Feb- vary 3 and 4, and Saturday afternoon and evening, February 5, is the time set for the most spectacular Scouting demonstration ever held in the Middle West. Thousands of Scouts will par- ticipate in demonstrating the various arts and crafts which they have learned. The 600 Scouts of the north shore troops are uniting to put on one of the seventy exhibits. These local troops will demonstrate the in- formation necessary to earn a merit badge in journalism. Ropert Anspach, Scoutmaster of Troop 1 of Highland Park, is supervising the preparation for the booth. Many thousands of people from Chicago, and vicinity will attend the huge demonstration which will be held in the Regimental armory at 16th and Michigan avenue, Chicago.
