Reed, of Bridgeport, Conn. recently issued a special invitation to parents to visit the public schools of that city. He pointed out, in his communication to parents of the schools, that a visit to them would stimulate progress on the part of children and give the an opportunity: 1. To make the acquaintance of the teachers of your children. 2. To learn the purpose of the studies which your children are taking. 3. To understand and appreciate the efforts which teachers are making to get results. 4. To find out how well your children are doing the work which is pre- scribed. To learn what you as do to help. 6. To find out whether your children have been doing their home work profitably. . To explain to the teachers your am- bitions for your children in order that the schools may meet their in- dividual needs. 8. To inspect the building which affect the comfort, safety of your children. 9. To investigate the moral atmos- phere of the school where so much of your children's time is spent. 10.
